Specialising in start up, business development, turnarounds, change management and transformation. Working across many sectors and turning  good ideas into good businesses.

Peter Child
Founder and MD

Peter runs a successful consultancy business in Marine, Renewables and Management and joined Waves4Power in 2015 as their UK representative. Prior to this Peter was Managing Director of A&P Falmouth Ltd, better known locally as Falmouth Docks, one of the largest ship repairers in Europe and was also on the A&P Group main board.

Peter went to Truro School and then joined ECCI now IMERYS in 1974 where he qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant and was made a Fellow in 1985.

At ECCI Peter became Divisional Controller reporting at Board level on performance, strategy and planning and worked in Europe, America and the Pacific. He joined A&P Falmouth as Finance Director in 1994 and was appointed Managing Director in 2003 where he worked with the management team to restructure the business, refocus on the customer, change working practices by working with the Unions and develop long term partnerships with customers and suppliers.

Peter was also CEO for Cornish Pirates Rugby Team, the elite professional sporting team in Cornwall and delivered the successful bid for the Stadium for Cornwall with Cornwall County Council and a Director on the LEP Employment and Skills Board. Peter currently is a Director of Cornwall Marine Network and Marine Offshore Renewables Ltd, UK Market Representive for Waves4Power Ltd and Vice Chair on the Board of The Cornwall College Group.

Utilising the wealth of experience and contacts made over 20 years Peter is now focusing on consultancy  to help customers develop and grow their business in the South West.


Married to Heather, they have three children, twin girls Brittany who works in Marketing and Nicola, a Physiotherapist, and a son Tom who works as an Environmental Engineer. Peter’s interests include most sports and enjoys playing golf and walking his boxer dog Rocky around Cornwall.
